Chantreyland Children’s Nursery is situated in Norton, Sheffield; it was established at previous premises in 1987 as a mixed age group nursery, moving to our present site 10 years later giving us further opportunities to improve the facilities we provide. The nursery was refurbished in 2011 and expanded further providing more high-quality childcare and education to the children in the community.
We are registered and inspected by Ofsted and meet the national standards set by the Goverment so parents can access the government's Nursery Education Funding for two, three and four-year-olds.
We are a very family orientated nursery and form close relationships with all of our parents, children and staff. We feel parents are crucial to a child’s successful learning and development and so, are always welcome to join in our activities. Parents are welcomed to regular parent’s evenings where development records and observations are shared.
We have a busy social calendar throughout the year for all of our families, including a summer garden party, parent’s evenings and other festival celebrations. Events are organised alongside our policies to promote social skills for all children and their families.
We provide a stimulating range of daytime activities for children aimed at developing not only their literacy and numeracy skills but their social, physical and communication skills too. Outdoor play is very important to Chantreyland and we give the opportunity to develop their skills in a secure environment. There is very little traffic nearby so noise and air pollution levels are low.
All children have access to music and movement, including a music teacher who visits Pre-School regularly. Staff have relevant knowledge and understanding of music and movement.
Pre-School and Toddler children have access to the nursery’s computer and they use appropriate software depending on their age and ability.
